EIGHT BILLION STEPS.

INTRODUCTION:

It’s not unusual to experience a dream that is, or leads to, an inspiration. Nor for that inspiration to eventually become a reality, or to a deeper understanding of a challenge…. My own first such boyhood dream was of a ladder against a high wall. Impelled thus to climb and discover the Beyond… I reached a wide ledge, another ladder, another wall… another wide ledge for recovery and a view of the achievement so far. And so it continued until with surprise I reached a plateau - comprised entirely of pinnacles. Although I then awoke in the dark, it was with the understanding that life is a sea of adjacent challenges, each an adventure, to climb anew and survive …. via creativity.

Within Creativity we find a passion to share a vision, born like a child to nurture to maturity. Which is how I came to Substack, a place where I meet friends with Planet Conscious Minds.

Leela’s prize winning entry to Suzanne’s Essays was a pertinent reminder of all those steps on all those ladders, inspiring me to brightly renovate a collapsing bench and a scarred, discarded table - which are en-route to becoming a frontispiece for my residence…. And a banner image for my posts on This Creative Adventure…. Leela is one of a throng of wise authors who advocate small steps that lead to big ones, which brings me to today’s Subtitle

Eight Billion Steps.

No, not a suggestion that if every inhabitant of this Our World were to step in unison = job done, that Ain’t how it works. More like a call to action, for some of us are gonna have to take up the slack. Some of us writers on Substack are in a superb place to do just that - for it’s Authors who influence readers. Why do you think Corporations and Governments employ so many scriptwriters ?

But they don’t employ us all, and with AI, they will employ ever less, meaning that the Pen of Damocles, like the Pendulum, can now freely swing.

Our Pens are Our Voices, n’est-ce pas ?

ONE). “Trike Trek” - A Project to develop a Solar Powered Camper Tricycle, Fully Capable of long haul travel - Thousands of Kilometers without ever having to search for a plug-in point. We are delighted to have commenced working with a UK Trike Manufacturer and a Dutch Inventor of a Solar bike that can run off direct Sun Power, needing only a small Back-up Battery for cloudy days. UP-POWERING to a stable Trike at Six+ times the weight is quite a challenge….

TWO). “The Boulevard” - A proposal to establish an Experimental Ecosite in France or Spain, comprising :-

1). Alternative construction tech - inc Wind, Solar, Composting Toilets, Natural Insulation, extracting drinking water from air, etc,.

2). Experiments in growing highly nutritious foods in the face of climate change.

3). Yurt and Tiny House construction, for guests and volunteers. See Photo below…..

4). Developing a haven for Artists and Authors, particularly those with any of the necessary skills to help achieve 1,2 & 3.

I already have knowledge and experience in some of the above. Here’s a photo of a Victorian bathing Machine I built at The Mill of Bliss, as a Promo for t’Otherwith Town… The photo was taken at Lincoln’s SteamPunk Festival in 2015. The Victorian Frockcoat was made by the costumed lady, as a thankyou for the build, as commissioned by her Husband. It’s what kick-started my interest in Tiny Houses…..
