Substack is Evolving.
Readers arrive and stay in large numbers*, BUT - Writers arrive and Leave in large numbers**.
Writers who Leave, often do so because the amount of work input to gain a greater engaged (dare I say Paid ?) readership, becomes too much of a commitment. Or perhaps they find an alternative income….
Writers who stay must evolve too***.
Which is exactly where I sit now. I am fortunate to have an opportunity from April to September to gain an alternative income. Not enough to live from, but a welcome supplement to my pension by performing gigs. Sadly, the very nature makes it difficult to commit to many fixed schedules.
My Evolution = LESS IS (Temporarily) MORE…
Here’s the minimum Publishing schedule I can promise :- Monthly : 1st, 11th, 21st, Alternately to This Creative Adventure / Yes, I Author. PLUS some ad-hoc stuff, as and when time between gigs allows****. Everything remains Free to read, although eventually Some Archival Posts will become paywalled, and/or digitalized.
Having had a longish look at the digitalized process…. It’s also a heck of a time / money expense…. However, I think I have found a Creative way around both*****. One that Suits my Readers, Myself and our lovely Substack platform.
Above all, I seek engagement with readers who show their appreciation of my writings. My stats show a healthy regular readership….. You can help me grow by taking two seconds to click the heart (which warms mine) Or two / three minutes to restack with a comment (for which I will reward you*****).
*= Substack readership growth, year on year is amazing. The forecast for on-line paying Educational readership is explosive.
**= Over 70% of new writers here do not last One Year.
***= In this World of Dramatic Changes, Complacency is Folly.
****= Such ‘between’ times I’ll devote to further development of Grokopedia, Cats & Dragons, Undeniable Poets, and Rise Island. The intention here to go live over next Winter.
*****= More on these two items as we move forward.
SEE YOU ON THE 21st ! Peace, Maurice….
Thank you Maurice! Always appreciate your advice
I am looking forward to you going live!
