T.C.A. SCHOLARSHIPS AND OTHER UPDATES

T.C.A. #12.

For some weeks now I have been offering to subsidize Newbie Substackers to subscribe to a leading Educator. Eligibility was limited to those who had between 25 & 100 subscribers, with a preference for writers on green issues. The Educators I have been considering mostly charge between $60 and $100, per annum. I asked for a contribution of $35, which would include a Complimentary Paid subscription to This Creative Adventure. Whist there has been a healthy interest in the offer, there have been only two takeups.

I am not complaining here - it was, above all, an experiment in community building. Perhaps I did not reach a broad enough audience, Perhaps the Eligibility was too narrow, Perhaps nobody has cash to spare in these difficult times…… I would be delighted to hear all your views…

I am therefore suspending, NOT withdrawing, the offer, whilst I rethink the issues. More recently I have been thinking about running a competition or two, with prizes. Maybe melding this with Scholarships - Thereby removing the financial commitment. Perhaps you would care to comment ?

GRATIS PROMOTIONS_

Almost a month ago, I set myself a challenge - to promote, For Free, 800+ other substackers (mostly strangers) in 30 days. Nearly there ! I’ll publish the methods and results in January. For now, it suffices to say that the T.C.A. Community is definitely growing much faster than my original “Maurice’s Substack”, now renamed as

STACK THREE.

I have a HUuuge file of stories, articles, images, of Cats and of Dragons. All clamouring for attention, demanding everything from a stack of their own to being represented in Parliament ! When I started out on Substack I could not see a way to accommodate my Furry / Scaly friend’s ambitions. I slipped a few tails into the Occasional Thread A, B, C + D, which just made them hungry for more !! Then I thought I saw a way to expand, without significant extra time commitments….. T.C.A. was, in part, created to test the theory. It’s worked so well that I have just registered

Cats and Dragons

but note - the way Substack works is only a limited number of “Followers” get to see Full Posts. So if you are curious as your cat, simply click the link and Subscribe for Free. We go live in a few weeks time with snippets, and will steadily build as we go….
